		Overseas Cooperation Base


		Base Operation Currently, Luen Thai Fishing Venture operates four fishing bases located in Majuro, in the Marshall Islands; Palau, and Pohnpei in the Federated States of Micronesia. Services include unloading fish, replenishment and seafood transportation. They provide various services for more than 150 fishing boats from other countries. These fishing bases, which have been operating for more than 10 years, are highly systematic, effective and implement world class standards. The catch from the boats are offloaded in the LTFV fishing bases, which provide them with provisions such as fuel, bait and crushed ice. The catch is offloaded, cleaned, graded, packed and then airlifted directly to market within the same day. (from the script). On the other hand, processed products are transported to the market through refrigerated containers and ships to ensure quality.


		Base Processing The select fish are chosen offshore by specialists and transported to the nearby factory in the base for manual removal of skin, bones and insides. The factory is accredited by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Two kinds of products emerge after processing based on quality and customer’s demand: fresh fish and processed fish (CO treated @ smoke treated fish). Then the fish are vacuum packed and put into freezer after being cut into loin, center cut, steak, and cube. At the same time, both Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and professional quality control personnel keep temperature at desirable level at all times to prevent food allergies. Quality tests are done in the laboratory for every batch of products and only those passing the tests are set for delivery. Temperature is monitored and controlled by a tracking device that ensures quality in all shipments.
